Mikitaražan, Seko and Dumfrajes. Agüero amused Inter players on TV with his pronunciation
Although Sergio Kun Agüero is no longer a professional footballer, he has stuck to his beloved sport. He has become an internet streamer where he often comments or reviews matches, this time being invited to ESPN for the Champions League semi-final. And he entertained everyone around him.
Although Sergio Kun Agüero is no longer a professional footballer, he has stuck to his beloved sport. He has become an internet streamer where he often comments or reviews matches, this time being invited to ESPN for the Champions League semi-final. And he entertained everyone around him.
The Argentine is known for the fact that languages are not his strong suit. He joined Atlético Madrid as a youngster, so he makes do with just his Spanish.
But then he went to England, where he became one of Manchester City’s biggest icons. He was very popular with all the fans and his teammates, which is an even greater feat when he hasn’t learned proper English in 10 years.
Spain’s most famous streamer, Ibai Llanos, joked in an interview after he left for Barcelona that he had only learned English in 10 years as a greeting and it wouldn’t be far from the truth. However, find Agüero’s interviews in English for yourself.
If he has learned a few words, then again, the fans laughed at him for his pronunciation. And he continues to have problems with it. The Argentine TV channel ESPN invited him to commentate on the Champions League semi-final match between Inter Milan and AC Milan.
And Agüero amused everyone right from the start when he started reading the line-ups. “A formation with three defenders, it looks more like a formation with five defenders to me,” the Argentine began. And then he moved on to the names.
“Bastón (Bastoni), Acerbi, Darmian in defence, ” began Agüero. “Di Marco, Mikitarazan…,” he mangled Mkhitaryan’s name when the commentator couldn’t take it and burst out laughing.
“Canarulu (Calhanoglu), Barella, Dumfrajes (Dumfries), Seko (Džeko) and Lautaro Martínez,” Agüero read out the Inter Milan line-up with great difficulty.
In the end, Inter Milan won 1: 0, beating their city rivals for the second time and advancing to the Champions League final.
