Real Madrid failed to sign Kylian Mbappé as the clubs disagreed on the transfer fee. However, he did get an interesting signing in the end. Eduardo Camavinga will now defend the colours of Real Madrid, the talented midfielder arrives from French side Rennes.

the 18-year-old is one of the biggest talents in Europe. At Rennes, he has just one year left on his contract. The management didn’t want to lose him for free, so they decided to monetise him. The club offered the player to other teams for a very promising amount and it was clear that he would leave already this summer.

Several excellent clubs were interested in his services. Camavingo was finally chosen by Real Madrid. The clubs came to an agreement very quickly and agreed on a severance payment of 31 million euros. Rennes can receive another 9 million euros in bonuses. On Tuesday, the Frenchman underwent a medical and signed a long term contract that will expire in 2027.

“Real Madrid and Stade Rennes have agreed on the transfer of Eduardo Camavinga, who has signed a six-year contract valid until 30 June 2027,” Real Madrid announced in the club’s official statement.

The talented midfielder was part of the Rennes first team in the 2018/19 season and played his first game in a Rennes jersey in May 2019. At 16, he became the youngest debutant in the club’s history.

He fitted into the first team very quickly and immediately became one of Rennes’ most important players. He has been a very busy player in the last two seasons and played a total of 60 games during that stretch. He also scored his first starts in the French national team jersey.

Camavinga is Real Madrid’s second summer signing. The Spanish big club has also acquired the experienced David Alaba from Bayern Munich.
