Manchester United’s rebuild begins. The sixth Premier League team goes into training with new coach Erik Ten Hag and he gets his first reinforcements. Christian Eriksen arrives at Old Trafford.

Football fortunes are unpredictable. Now Eriksen is returning to the elite scene of the big clubs, yet a year ago he didn’t know if he would ever play football again, or even breathe. After a heart failure during a Euro match left the whole world holding his fingers crossed, Eriksen has thankfully finally woken up.

However, he had to be fitted with a cardiover-defibrillator, with which he was unable to play in Serie A. So he had no choice but to terminate his contract with Inter Milan, where he transferred from Tottenham.

He returned to football, however, and in the winter signed with Brentford, who are heavily intertwined with Eriksen’s nationality. The club is owned by a Danish owner and there are several Danes in the squad. So it was the perfect club for the 30-year-old to restart.

It worked out great, Eriksen hit 11 games in the Premier League, helped Brentford with a 1+4 record and showed with great performances that he still has a huge appetite for football.

So talk of a move to a bigger club started and it’s coming. As reported by renowned journalist David Ornstein, Eriksen has verbally agreed a contract with Manchester United, where he will head as a free agent.

He will sign a 3-year contract at Old Trafford, but before the whole thing becomes official, paperwork and a medical must be completed.

Eriksen will thus give Ten Hag more options to the midfield line that has been most criticized by the fans. Moreover, after the departure of Paul Pogba, the club suffered another blow and a quality midfielder was a must.

The Danish playmaker is the first reinforcement for the Red Devils, but it can be expected that he will definitely not be the last. A top striker, a left-back and ideally another defensive midfielder should also come to Old Trafford.
