Manchester United and Liverpool are in the running for Bayern Munich’s big talent. Gravenberch wants to play, will Germany accommodate him?
Ryan Gravenberch is unhappy with his usage and has publicly let it be known that he’ll play wherever he gets a chance next season, whether it be at Bayern or elsewhere. As a result, a couple of English clubs are circling around the young midfielder and would like to acquire him.
Ryan Gravenberch is unhappy with his usage and has publicly let it be known that he’ll play wherever he gets a chance next season, whether it be at Bayern or elsewhere. As a result, a couple of English clubs are circling around the young midfielder and would like to acquire him.
Gravenberch is a big Dutch talent whose services were secured by Bayern Munich last year, who paid just under €20 million to Ajax. However, such a player needs as much space on the pitch as possible, which logically he is not getting at the German club.
the 21-year-old midfielder has played in 33 games, during which he scored once, in the first round of the German Cup, against Viktoria Köln. However, he played the full 90 minutes only twice, namely in the Champions League against Viktoria Plzen and Inter Milan.
Most of the time he only played a few minutes, although it must be said that towards the end of the season the minutes spent on the pitch increased more and more. This is of course linked to the arrival of Thomas Tuchel, who could play a decisive role in Gravenberch’s eventual stay.
The talented Dutchman has English clubs circling around him. The Daily Mirror has reported that Liverpool’s interest continues, which was already discussed in January this year. However, Manchester United is also on the lookout and will also be strengthening the central midfielder position this summer.
Gravenbercher’s plan is clear. “I just want to play more, of course I prefer Bayern Munich. But possibly at another club where I can play 100%. That’s my preference, because I don’t want to have another season like this one,” the player told the Telegraaf.
At Manchester United it would probably look similar to Bayern Munich. However, Liverpool is already a bit different with the club parting ways with a number of players and making new signings.
One of the arrivals so far is Alexis Mac Allister, and we wrote about another potential midfielder the Reds could bring in a few days ago. He is the talented Khephren Thuram. Jürgen Klopp is not afraid to give space to young talents and that is why Liverpool could be the perfect place for Gravenberch.
