Lukaku must approach his situation like Werner, Chelsea coach Tuchel is clear

Romelu Lukaku came to Chelsea as the cannonballer who shot Inter Milan to the title. It was expected that he would score goals in a Blues jersey, but that is not happening. Coach Thomas Tuchel gave the Belgian striker clear advice.
It’s as if strikers coming to Chelsea are cursed. Just like Timo Werner a year earlier and Romelu Lukaku in the summer, both came to Stamford Bridge as heralded cannon fodder to lift the Blues’ offense, but the opposite is true and neither shines as a goalscorer.
There is one big difference, however, and that is attitude. While Werner makes it known that he is the quintessential German with his extreme commitment, morale, work ethic and teamwork, Lukaku is more easily thrown off balance. After all, he’s already had a falling out when he talked about returning to Inter Milan.
And it is Werner that Lukaku should take his cue from, or so says coach Thomas Tuchel. “Timo has done exactly what Romelu must do now. Wait, be patient, work hard, put the team first and be ready to help the team,” Goal quoted him as saying.
The German coach admitted that Werner’s approach makes it very difficult for him to leave him out of the line-up. Moreover, he has liked the player’s performance in recent matches. Moreover, he thinks that strikers can have an easier time returning to the line-up than players in other positions.
“As a striker, you can help the team in seconds. Your whole career can be upside down, but as a striker you can always arrange to benefit both the team and yourself,” Tuchel added.
Meanwhile, despite the low potential of their attacking aces, Chelsea fought a tight battle in the Champions League quarter-finals with Real Madrid and are third in the league behind upstart Liverpool and Manchester City.
