Lukaku bids farewell to Inter fans and explains why he couldn’t turn down Chelsea’s offer

After a very successful season, Romelu Lukaku is heading back to the Premier League, where he will once again wear the jersey of Chelsea. The transfer has been confirmed for some time now, but the 28-year-old striker has only now found the right words to say goodbye to the Inter fans.

Lukaku’s agent is indeed a happy man! After all, the clubs have already paid almost 330 million euros for his entire career. Now the Belgian striker is in his prime and that’s also why Chelsea paid 115 million euros for him. Yet it was the Blues who brought him to England in 2011 from Anderlecht, back then for €15 million.

Since then, Lukaku has scored 113 goals in 252 games in the Premier League and has done even better in Serie A, where he has scored 47 times in 72 games. Now, the Belgian giant is returning to his dream team to improve his numbers in England’s top league.

But of course Lukaku couldn’t forget the Inter fans, with whom he has achieved a lot in a very short time!

“Dear Inter Milan fans, thank you for all your support. The welcome I received at Malpensa Airport was just the beginning of a wonderful story we wrote together. I gave 100% in every training session and match. This is the reason why we became champions,” Lukaku said goodbye to Milan fans on his social network.

Of course, he didn’t forget to explain the reason for his departure. Although, in this case, it was mainly the bad financial situation of Inter, which forced the club to sell its best players!

“I also hope you understand my decision to leave Chelsea. It’s the opportunity of a lifetime, which I have always dreamed of. But one thing is certain, I will always be an Inter player because without you I would not be the player or the man I am today.”

Lukaku has been a Chelsea player since August 12, but he still only watched the 3-0 win over Crystal Palace in the stands. However, it is expected that he will play against Arsenal next weekend, so everyone believes that he will play at least a few minutes.
