Liverpool would be best for Haaland, believes Dortmund legend
Erling Haaland leaves no doubt in anyone’s mind that he’s run out of shooting powder. Borussia Dortmund have benefited immensely from his skills, but it is likely that this will only be the case until the end of this season.
Erling Haaland leaves no one in doubt that his shooting powder has dried up (3 games – 5 goals and 3 assists). Borussia Dortmund are benefiting immensely from his abilities, but it can be assumed that this will only be the case until the end of this season, after which the Norwegian cannonballer will head elsewhere.
Michael Rummenigge has also commented on his expected departure and believes that Haaland will be wearing the jersey of another team next season. “We’ll see where Haaland goes after this season,” the BVB legend told Sport1.
“Real Madrid and Barcelona have financial problems, so I can imagine him going to England. His father also played there. I can imagine that Liverpool would be best for Haaland,” Rummenigge believes.
A move to the Premier League or Liverpool would certainly make a lot of sense. The team is led by Jurgen Klopp, who has won both the Champions League and the English top flight with the Reds in recent years.
Moreover, Liverpool is a great team that has a lot of potential and with Haaland at the helm, its quality would increase significantly!
Another big plus is that a number of footballers are currently headed to England and many experts believe that the cradle of football will now dictate the pace of this phenomenal sport.
Not long ago, everyone believed that Haaland would end up at either Barcelona or Real Madrid, who were reportedly the most interested in him. But, as Rummenigge himself said, the Spanish big clubs are now facing big problems that are far from over and, given the economic situation in the world, can be counted on to drag on for some time to come.
The Premier League, where clubs are very well off financially, will of course benefit. Moreover, this gap could widen in the next few years.
So when it comes to breaking bread, Haaland will ask itself, what’s best for me? A stagnant La Liga or a watchable Premier League?
Moreover, the Norwegian cannonballer seems to be the one looking for the biggest challenges and that is exactly what England’s top league can offer him. At Real Madrid, he would no doubt score goal after goal, as Messi and Ronaldo did. But if he could emulate their stats in the Premier League, it would carry far more weight!
