Liverpool have found a replacement for the outgoing Klopp? Only 3 possible options among the successors
Jürgen Klopp announced at the end of last month that he will retire from his coaching career at Liverpool after almost nine years. During his time at Anfield, he led the Reds to six trophies and four European finals. The German coach will go down in history as one of the best managers the club has ever had.

During his time at Anfield, he led the Reds to six trophies and four European finals. The German coach will go down in history as one of the best managers the club has ever had.
Liverpool’s goals
In the current season, the goals are clear. The Reds have had a great season. Liverpool is currently top of the Premier League. They have reached the Carabao Cup final, they are still in the FA Cup. They also have a great run in the Europa League, where it is not out of the question that they will win the title. There are 4 trophies in play that the outgoing Jürgen Klopp can win with the current squad.
Another clear goal is to find a new coach to lead the club from next season. The club’s owners FSG are doing a proper analysis on a potential successor. They have reportedly known about Klopp’s decision to leave since November.
Demise by Klopp and the (dis)advantage he made for the club
The big advantage in the quest to get the next Liverpool coach is that Klopp himself announced his end in time. This gave the management plenty of time to get a replacement for his personality. Nothing will be made public until the end of the season to ensure that it doesn’t interfere with Klopp’s job of finishing as well as possible with the club and affect the squad.
Klopp’s demise has been linked to many conspiracy theories. But we will know all of this at the end of the season when an official statement will be made. And a new Liverpool head coach will be appointed.
Possible successors to Klopp at Liverpool
Xabi Alonso
The former Liverpool midfielder was very popular among the fans. Xabi Alonso gained affection for his notable performance in the 2005 Champions League final against AC Milan. He is considered an icon of the club and he has a supposed release clause of only playing for 3 teams he played for as an active player.
He is now doing an incredible job with Bayer Leverkusen, who lead the Bundesliga by two points ahead of giants Bayern Munich and are aiming for their first title in the club’s 119 year old history. And Alonso seems to tick all the boxes for the new coach’s job.
Roberto De Zerbi
Roberto De Zerbi has been very tight-lipped around the possibility of leading the Reds. He was referring to his current job with Brighton. He praised the qualities of Xabi Alonso and admired Klopp’s work and focus. The comments only focused on his current club and he wouldn’t divulge more.
Ruben Amorim
Another key figure was Ruben Amorim, Sporting’s head coach, who has not yet been formally approached by Liverpool but is reportedly planning to open negotiations. The revelation that Liverpool are calculating this option was expected to happen on Saturday.
Amorim’s work is interesting. The thirty-nine-year-old coach has led Sporting to a league title, the Portuguese Cup and the Super Cup. Despite his young age, he has built a great reputation for the results he has achieved with the club.
Amorim’s big exit price
If Liverpool decide to acquire Amorim, it won’t come cheap as he has a huge release clause of 20 million euros (£17 million) in his contract with Sporting. Liverpool are willing to pay it if they decide to bring him in as the best possible successor to the outgoing Klopp.
