Liverpool have made their first signing of the summer. The 22-year-old Uruguayan Darwin Nuñez will arrive at Anfield to replace Sadio Mané.

The Premier League is not sparing with new transfers right now. After Manchester City officially unveiled Erling Haaland as their latest signing yesterday, Liverpool didn’t dawdle for long.

Darwin Nuñez has been a hot commodity in the market among strikers, with Manchester United also interested in him, in addition to Liverpool.

the 187 centimetres tall Uruguayan is over-technical for his height, but that doesn’t detract from his killer skills.

Liverpool have to deal with the departure of Sadio Mané, which although not yet official, the Senegalese has already made it clear that he does not intend to continue at Liverpool. Thus, there is speculation about his transfer to Bayern Munich.

Renowned site Transfermarkt estimates that Liverpool paid Benfica €75 million for the 22-year-old Uruguayan.

Nuñez scored 26 goals in 28 games in the Portuguese league last season with a phenomenal statistic of one goal per 78 minutes played. However, he was not lost in the Champions League where he scored six goals, two of which were in the Liverpool net.
