When Slavia were drawn against Feyenoord in the quarter-finals of last season’s Conference Europa League, everyone, including Jindřich Trpišovský, was disappointed. They already knew about the qualities of Arne Slota’s team from the group and the Dutch team really knocked out the Sevivians. Now coach Slot is on the verge of getting a job in the Premier League.

Arne Slot will lead Feyenoord Rotterdam from summer 2021. He has come a long way with the team in two and a half years. He is currently leading the Dutch Eredivisie with a two-point lead over AZ Alkmaar.

Last year, Slot led the team from the port city from the second round of the Europa League to the final of the competition, where they fell to AS Roma. He was beaten by German Union Berlin, French Marseille and Prague Slavia.

Feyenoord first defeated the Seychellois 2-1 at home in the group stage, then drew 2-2 in Prague. When the two teams met in the quarter-finals, the scenario was reversed and Feyenoord won 3-1 in the rematch at home after a 3-3 draw against Slavia.

After a great season for Slota, Luis Sinistera left for Leeds, Cyriel Dessers went to Monza, Marcos Senesi chose Bournemouth, Guus Til went to PSV Eindhoven, Tyrell Malacia even signed for Manchester United.

Slot is leading the league with the team despite a significant weakening of the squad, but that wasn’t the main reason he made the shortlist for the Leeds coaching job. Indeed, his game is based on a toughness and combativeness that is sometimes over the edge. But that’s what the Premier League is all about.

On the other hand, the trio of Michael Skubala, Paco Gallardo and Chris Armas, who took over the A-team on a temporary basis after the demise of Jesse Marsch, drew 2-2 at Old Trafford on Wednesday’s debut after a good performance.

Leeds even led 2: 0 and had they taken all the points, it would not have been undeserved. So there is a chance in the game for the current trio of coaches.
