Is the final end of the career for the Czech hockey legend approaching? In an interview with CNN Prima News, Jaromir Jagr revealed that the next season will be his last. He briefly talked about his future plans before the barrage against Vsetín.
The Kladno Knights successfully managed the barrage against Vsetín, which they defeated 4:0 in the match, and thus saved their place in the Czech top hockey competition for the third time in a row. It should be added that Vsetín’s Ondřej Machala recently commented on how (un)fair the format is.
The captain of the winning team Radek Smoleňák also spoke on this topic. Kladno went into the barrage rested and full of strength, while the Wallachian club had a lot on its legs after the Chance League playoffs.
Anyway, the playing owner of the Knights and Czech hockey legend Jaromír Jágr spoke about another topic before the barrage. Namely about his future.
“We’ll see how the barrage goes, and if it goes well and we stay in the league, we have a plan to film my last season. I would really like to prepare myself physically for my last season,” Jagr said exclusively on Showtime.
Jágr can count on his name to be on the roster for next season. The Kladno hockey icon, by the way, named goalie Adam Brízgala as one of the main contributors to his success after the winning barrage.
Jágr has plans for a movie and a book
The former Pittsburgh Penguins, Washington Capitals and New York Rangers player has other plans. He said on Showtime that he is making a movie with Petr Vetrovsky and is also planning a book.
“I’ve been planning a book for 10 years, so everything I had planned had to change because I changed my views. We started filming with Petr four years ago, so I made it a bit more expensive for him,” said Jagr, adding that he thought he would quit, but he is still extending his career.
