Prelims

Gottvald and Úškrt’s comebacks ended in victories

Jan “JayJay” Gottvald returned to the cage after more than two years and his opponent was Brazilian Edilson Franca. The Brazilian tried to throw the home fighter, but Honza used his height advantage to dominate his opponent and won on points.

It was Rado Uskrt who didn’t leave his return to the cage to the scoring judges. He put incredible pressure on the Ukrainian Kurdinov right from the start and ended the fight with a knockout after only 72 seconds.

Adam from Survivor was the last survivor

Only four months of training and immediately on one of the biggest sporting events on home soil. Adam Reiter and Nathan Dzaba won over their fans on the toughest reality show Survivor, but the toughest test of their lives was yet to come.

They had to settle their island feuds in the cage and it must be said, they certainly didn’t spare themselves. Although their inexperience in striking was evident from a technical standpoint, they both came into the match at a high pace.

This proved fatal for Nathan who clearly ran out of juice after two minutes of clinching. Adam got him underneath him midway through the round and used hard punches to force the referee to end the fight early.

Lewis finished the German challenge champion and challenged Boraros

James Lewis followed up his first round victory by defeating the first ever German Octagon Challenge champion Selim Topuz. While the latter started the fight a little better, landing some decent left hooks on his British foe, Lewis turned the fight around.

Midway through the first round, the Brit caught his less experienced opponent with a solid high kick that sent Topuz to the floor. After dominating on the ground, Lewis then landed a Rear Naked Choke with 47 seconds left to end the fight. After the win, he then asked for a long-term contract in an interview and challenged his original opponent, Gábor Boráros.

Brazilian Bueno gave Mazúch no chance and used his black belt in BJJ

Professional soldier Marek Mazúch tasted the bitterness of defeat for the first time in his MMA career. Brazilian Jorge Bueno put everything on one card and used his black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu.

From the beginning of the fight, he got his Slovakian opponent under control and pressured for the finish with his activity. Although Marek fiercely resisted and fought off several difficult situations, he eventually had to tap to a mounted choke.

After the match, Václav “Baba Jaga” came to the cage Mikulášek and challenged the Brazilians to a mutual clash. Bueno nodded to the challenge and the two arranged a fight for Ostrava’s Oktagon 37 in early December.

In a crazy underground fight, Roušal showed his extravagant

Things were boiling hot between the two fighters at the weigh-in. The duel under modified underground rules for three rounds of three minutes each started fiercely. Small glove punches flew through the air from the first seconds of the fight and every successful attempt was audible.

The first round was dominated by Radek Rousal, who did damage to Mark Bartel’s face with his hooks. He even opened up his opponent at the end of the first round, but the match had an incredible pace in the smaller time slot.

Although a close second round could have gone Bartel’s way, Roušal left no one in doubt in the third round and put on a dominant performance. With a minute left in the fight, he even sent Bartel to the count with a right hook, making the scoring judges’ job easy.

The main card

Rony Paradeiser gave a mature performance against Furtado

Rony Paradeiser was the clear favorite by the bookmakers in his fight against Iamika Furtado. He confirmed his role with a dominant performance in which he did not give his opponent the slightest chance.

The African started with hard low kicks, after which the Slovakian fighter chose a clear tactic to take the African to the ground. Although his opponent fiercely defended, the first round went clearly to the Slovakian wrestler.

Early in the second round, Paradeiser got his opponent down after a hard punch and tried to finish him off. However, Furtado survived the difficult situation and finished the fight. The fight was clearly in the Slovakian’s control though and he won by unanimous points.

Pukac completely outclassed Bol

The atmosphere before the fight between the Slovak fighters was tense, Bolo promised Pukac a tough time. However, the opposite was true.

Robo Pukac bullied his rival on the ground throughout the fight and gave Bolo no chance. Although we didn’t see many dangerous situations and it could have been a lackluster fight for the fan, Pukac needed this win and he got it in dominant fashion.

Dohnal surprised Moon in the standup

The cards were clearly dealt before the fight, but the fight itself looked very different. Moon was going to keep the fight standing and Kuba Dohnal was going to threaten primarily on the ground.

But the first round showed that the Czech fighter worked on his boxing skills and surprised the Canadian with hard punches. These shook the Canadian fighter several times, who was unable to respond to Dohnal’s surprising fighting style.

In the second round Moon evened the pace with the Czech fighter and caused damage under Dohnal’s left eye. However, both rounds were fairly even and the judges eventually awarded the split decision victory to the Czech fighter.

Kalashnik tactically outpointed Dos Santos on home soil

Andrey Kalashnik was looking forward to the tournament on home soil. He got his wish in the Octagon and the Brazilian tornado Joel Dos Santos stood in his way to victory. The home fighter was the clear favorite with the bettors and he accomplished his task. He may not have been happy with his performance in the end, but the win counts.

From the very beginning, he took a tactical approach that we can’t be surprised at. The Brazilian’s wild floaters flew around Kalashnik’s head, so he used his greater reach and fought primarily from the retreat with successful straight rights that brought the home fighter the victory he needed. The advice of Martin Karaivanov and Jirka Procházka certainly helped.

Rysavy stopped Fodor with 3 seconds left in the first round

The main prelims definitely served their purpose. The main event of the gala lured the fans with an attractive battle that was dominated by Karol Rysavy.

After the opening knockdown, Rysavy got Fodor to the ground and gave his opponent a torrid time with an arm-triangle. Fodor, however, handled the difficult situation and the fight was back on the feet. But with ten seconds left in the first round, Rysavy took Fodor down with a hard punch and won with just three seconds left in the first round.

Kincl demolished Lohoré and defended his championship belt

Anyone expecting a five-round battle must have been disappointed. The main fight of the evening lasted less than two minutes and had a surprisingly clear course. Patrik Kincl showed a performance worthy of a champion and completely obliterated his challenger.

From the very first punches it was clear who was the master of the octagon today. The back straight demolished the Frenchman and he couldn’t find an answer to the Czech fighter’s hard shots. After a minute came a spectacular high kick from Kinceloe that shook Lohore, but it was the right hand shots that sent the Frenchman down.

Hard punches combined with elbows then forced the referee to end the one-sided bout prematurely. Patrik Kincl thus clearly defended his middleweight championship belt. Although a question came up in the interview regarding a possible duel with Karlos Vemola, Patrik did not want to comment on the situation with his rival.

So Karlos took it all on his shoulders and entered the cage to the cheers of the fans present to challenge the newly crowned champion at the December tournament in Prague’s O2 Arena. However, the king of the night remained Patrik Kincl and his incredible performance.
