Pavel Kadeřábek has been wearing the colours of Hoffenheim for several years. Why didn’t he move to a better club in his career? And how has his team managed to take points from Bayern?

The former Czech international talks about it in the Sport Mundial podcast. He talked, among other things, about how he would approach a possible return to Sparta and the end of the national team.

He is already in his seventh season at Hoffenheim and says he has excellent conditions at the club for training and regeneration. That is why he decided to stay and not accept an offer from a more famous team.

That was AS Roma, who were in the running for Kadeřábek when Hoffenheim were promoted to the Champions League. Moreover, he has built a certain position in the team and the style of play suits him.

Kadeřábek also spoke about Julian Nagelsmann, who managed him at Hoffenheim for two and a half years. Although he was younger than some of the players in the squad, he built up respect with his expertise and knowledge of football.

Nagelsmann placed high demands on his players, especially in terms of tactics, game situations and training exercises tailored to this. According to Kadeřábek, even his German teammates did not understand some of the drills.

Young coaches have a chance in the Czech league, he said. However, he could not imagine himself becoming a coach after his career. However, he could imagine Bořek Dočkal in that role.

Kadeřábek said that he would only consider a return to Sparta if it made sense for him and the club. Finishing his career at his parent club just because the fans want him to is not an option for him.

Hoffenheim have been quite successful in recent years in tormenting a sovereign Bayern. The recipe to overwhelm a seemingly unbeatable opponent is a high press when the opponent is on the ball and a quick comeback if Bayern manages to outplay that press.

Kadeřábek would also like to see other Bundesliga teams come closer to Bayern in quality to make the German league more interesting. He has extended his contract with Hoffenheim until 2025 and intends to keep it.

According to his words, he would rather play for trophies in Germany than for salvation in England, which is also why a transfer to the Premier League or another quality competition is out of the question for him.
