Juventus in further trouble? The Italian giant has reached a deal with UEFA and will not play the Conference League
Juventus Turin will most likely not play in the Conference Europa League next season. According to the Italian media, the Italian club is ready to accept UEFA’s punishment so that it does not have to face, for example, expulsion from the Champions League in the future. The reason for this is the already mentioned falsification of accounts.

According to the Italian media, the Italian club is ready to accept UEFA’s punishment so that it does not have to face, for example, expulsion from the Champions League in the future. The reason for this is the already mentioned falsification of accounts.
Last season was a very difficult and unpleasant one for Juventus as a result of the accounting manipulation. The Italian giant was first punished by the deduction of 15 points, only to have them restored.
Not to mention the penalties for individual officials. The appeal was successful, the situation seemed to be saved, at least from this point of view. However, after the successful appeal and the return of the points, it was the breach of the rules that the Court of Appeal was concerned with.
Specifically the breach of Rule 4 – involving fair play and sporting integrity as a result of the falsification of accounts. The Court of Appeal then upheld the deduction of ten points.
The Old Lady dropped to seventh place in the Serie A table because of this deduction, thus securing at least qualification for the European Conference League. However, as the Italian news server Corriere dello Sport reports, Juventus will not play in that either.
One of the most successful teams in the history of Italian football has agreed with UEFA not to participate in the Conference League in the upcoming season. The reason?
In addition to fines, point deductions and other punishments, Juventus were in danger of not being able to play in the Champions League in the 2024/25 edition. So the Italian club’s management reached for the understandable alternative of opting out of the Conference League rather than lose Champions League participation afterwards.
Instead of Juventus, Fiorentina, the finalist of the last edition of the Conference League, should move to the European Cup.
The latter finished eighth in the last Serie A with 56 points. They are six points behind seventh-placed Juventus.
