Mike Tyson will not face any charges after repeatedly punching a passenger who inappropriately provoked him during their flight together.
Recently, we informed you that famously boisterous Mike Tyson got into trouble again when he delivered several “educational” blows to a provocateur on a plane.
The drunken passenger, despite many warnings from the scariest man on the planet, was pushing the former heavyweight boxing champion and allegedly threw a water bottle at him.
In the martial arts world, most fighters sided with the former boxing star and hoped that the legendary brawler would not be in trouble with the law from the incident. Their wishes were eventually granted and common sense prevailed here in spades.
The California Attorney General’s office made the announcement Tuesday following an investigation into the incident. “We have reviewed police reports from the San Francisco Police Department and the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Department and have reviewed various videos collected by law enforcement from others on the plane,” the prosecutor said in a statement , according to MMA Fighting.
“Our decision is that we will not bring any charges against Mr. Tyson based on the circumstances of the confrontation,” the statement continued. “These include, but are not limited to, the victim’s behavior leading up to the incident, the interaction between Mr. Tyson and the victim, as well as the requests of both the victim and Mr. Tyson that no charges be filed in this case,” the prosecutor confirmed Tyson’s innocence.
Of course, such situations can be handled in other ways, but in this case, the passenger clearly overreacted. There are consequences to treating a man like Mike Tyson in such a manner. Both men still came out of the incident well, hopefully the man who was attacked will think twice about how he should behave in public next time.
