Jake Paul and Floyd Mayweather are not exactly on speaking terms
He who sows the wind reaps the whirlwind. On the other hand, too many dogs, death of a rabbit. Those sayings define tonight in Miami. After the NBA game between the Miami Heat and the Cleveland Cavaliers, the streets of the Florida city were abuzz.
Two old friends met outside the stadium after the game of the biggest basketball league in the world. Well, there were a bit more of them, but they were two names that share a common history.
When the famously undefeated boxer Floyd Mayweather and YouTuber Logan Paul faced off in a no-win exhibition match in June 2021, there was quite a stir at the pre-fight press conference. It was handled by none other than the ‘Problem Child’ Jake Paul.
He has been teasing the legendary boxer for a long time via social networks, but at the press conference the younger of the Paul brothers went even further. During the confrontation he took Mayweather’s cap, which angered him properly.
The famous boxer took his buddies and went to attack the ‘Problem Child’
Even though it was a seemingly innocent situation, the emotions of the famous boxer still linger years later. As Jake Paul and his bodyguard were leaving the aforementioned basketball game tonight, he was attacked by his cronies, led by Mayweather.
“So I’m leaving the Miami Heat and Floyd Mayweather game and 50 guys come out of nowhere from some side alley,” Paul captioned the incident on his Instagram. He did not understand that the incident was happening because of a hat. So Paul preferred to take his feet on his shoulders to save his skin.
“But okay, if you want to go one on one, no problem. But no f**king exhibition,” he challenged him to an official match. “I’m tough, but I’m not stupid. I’m not going to stand there and fight 50 guys.” Video of the incident can be seen below.
While it’s true that Paul often plays with fire, and that was no different in the case of his confrontation with Mayweather. But inviting a bunch of friends to outnumber one fighter is pretty pathetic for such a boxing legend, don’t you think?
