It’s stupid! Nadal rejects the position of favourite. His next opponent will test him severely
Tennis fans have finally seen his return to the courts. The king of clay is back, but despite a successful entry into the tournament in Barcelona, Nadal rejects any speculation that he should be among the favourites. Who, on the other hand, has named him as the favourite? The upcoming match will certainly give a hint as to where the Spaniard stands.

Nadal in the final?
More than a quarter of a year of waiting is over. Rafael Nadal has successfully returned to the tennis courts, defeating Italian Cobolli in two sets.
He handled his opening opponent after a long match break in less than an hour and a half and did not admit any complications. However, this match definitely did not test him on all sides.
Greek tennis player Tsitsipas is one of the main favourites of the tennis event in Barcelona. And according to him, he would not be surprised by Nadal’s participation in the final of the current tournament.
“It’s stupid,” Nadal responds to the words full of expectations. He sees only respect for what he has already done here. Let’s recall that the Spanish legend has already dominated the local event twelve times. The last time Nadal was here was three years ago.
In the next match, the 37-year-old Spaniard no longer feels he is the favourite. Which is a realistic approach given his opponent.
A big challenge
Nadal, of course, has fallen down the rankings after his break and cannot feature among the seeded players. That’s why he will meet an elite world top ten player in the second round.
The opponent of the returnee to the courts will be Australian De Minaur. He is considered one of the fastest players on the ATP circuit.
However, he did not show much on clay last year. He lost most of his matches this season. But now he is a stronger player and reached the quarterfinals a week ago on the clay in Monte Carlo, where he lost to Djokovic.
So within a week, the Sydney native will play another playing legend. The expected duel is scheduled for Wednesday afternoon in Barcelona.
