This Saturday will be the WBC heavyweight boxing title fight between champion Tyson Fury and challenger Dillian Whyte. There was a hostile atmosphere between the two teams at the face-to-face press conference, but both fighters put on a sporting display.

The WBC heavyweight title fight Tyson Fury vs. Dillian Whyte this Saturday!

On Thursday, the second press conference was held ahead of Saturday’s WBC heavyweight title fight in front of a record European crowd. The Fury vs Whyte title fight will be seen by 94,000 spectators at Wembley Stadium in London.

“He’s a good fighter, he’s big, he’s strong, he’s tough, he’s got good punching power and he’s knocked out a lot of men,” Tyson Fury said of the challenger , according to BT Sports. “He’s got a lot of experience in this game, so he’s definitely a man who deserves respect,” he praised his rival, saying he trained as hard for him as he did for all his previous opponents.

The press conference was held in a friendly spirit

There was a funny situation at the press conference when Tyson Fury reacted to the words of Dillian Whyte, who recalled a story from their sparring session when Whyte should have sent Fury to the floor. “Sparring is sparring, ” Fury confirmed his opponent’s thesis.

“It’s true that we trained together and were good friends,” Fury said. “We drank together, we ate together, we slept together,” he recalled, whereupon Whyte, to laughter from all present, retorted that he had not slept with Fury.

The quiet press conference was interrupted by the two protagonists’ teams

Although the face-to-face press conference between the two protagonists was conducted in a friendly atmosphere, with both fighters exchanging compliments about the threat of each other, in the end the meeting could have turned into a largely wild spectacle.

Indeed, at the very end during the staredown, both teams exchanged some very harsh words and both boxers had to rather tame their passions. The passionate discussion was handled by the champion’s father, the notoriously boisterous John Fury, and his soca’s brother Dean Whyte. But both boxers pulled the handbrake and the situation eventually calmed down.

Will Whyte become the only boxer to defeat Fury or will Tyson eventually retire undefeated, as he hinted before the fight? We will find out on Saturday at 11pm CET and Czechoslovak fans can see it on Nova Action, Voyo or Dajto. Let’s hope it will be a celebration of boxing!
