Is the end of Allegri at Juventus near? The management is already looking for possible alternatives. Nedved’s favourite is Conte
Juventus did not have a good start to the new season, taking only ten points from seven games. And that’s not enough for the management. The media are beginning to report about the possible end of coach Massimiliano Allegri. The Old Lady is reportedly already in contact with his potential successor, who is it?

The media are beginning to report about the possible end of coach Massimiliano Allegri. The Old Lady is reportedly already in contact with his potential successor, who is it?
Juventus have struggled in the new Serie A season, winning only two home games against Sassuolo and Spezia. Last time they lost 0-1 to Monza, a newcomer to the Italian top flight.
Juventus are eighth in the table, seven points behind Napoli. Of course, this is not enough for the club’s management or the fans.
However, the club’s CEO Maurizio Arrivabene was firmly behind the experienced Italian coach, or at least he seemed to be until a few days ago. “It would be absolute madness to fire Allegri now. Massimiliano has a project for the next four years at Juventus. We have long-term plans and I am part of them as CEO,” he told reporters Fabrizio Romano after the loss to Monza.
Allegri was reportedly under the protection of club president Andrea Agnelli, but that is no longer the case. The whole situation is not helped by the fact that Juventus still failed to win the Champions League group stage. Firstly, it lost to PSG (1: 2) and then failed to beat Benfica at home (1: 2).
Is Antonio Conte’s return in the cards?
The Italian club has therefore started exploring the possibility of a change of coach. Reportedly, it has already contacted the representative of coach Antonio Conte, who is currently coaching Tottenham in England.
This would be a surprise return, as Conte has already been at Juventus but left in 2014 after disagreements with the club’s chairman. At the time, the two men had a difference of opinion over the transfer window.
Former Czech international Pavel Nedved, who is the club’s vice-president, is very keen on Conte at Juventus. However, the return of the Italian coach is hindered not only by his contract with Tottenham, which he has signed until June 2023, but also precisely by his relationship with Agnelli, to whom the Inter Milan coach pointed the middle finger in 2019.
Conte himself has said in earlier interviews with Italian media that he could return to Turin at some point and complete the project he has split up here.
Allegri’s future is expected to be decided in the coming weeks. However, if Juventus fail to break the unfavourable streak, it is likely that changes will take place at the club. But whether Conte will be his successor is a question, but it is not very likely.
