Inter Milan can welcome a new signing. This is Davide Frattesi, unsurprisingly given the recent negotiations, who is changing his Sassuolo jersey for Inter. This was confirmed on Wednesday afternoon by the club’s CEO Giovanni Carnevali.
Inter Milan can welcome a new signing. This is Davide Frattesi, unsurprisingly given the recent negotiations, who is changing his Sassuolo jersey for Inter. This was confirmed on Wednesday afternoon by the club’s CEO Giovanni Carnevali.
Davide Frattesi will definitively move to San Siro. Both Milan big clubs have shown interest in the 23-year-old midfielder. However, as previous speculation has suggested, Frattesi has been closer to a transfer to Inter all along.
On Wednesday afternoon, all speculation was put to rest by Sassuolo CEO Giovanni Carnevali, who confirmed to Italian journalists that his transfer to Inter is a done deal.
“It’s a done deal, he signed not long ago. We are happy, it was not easy. It was a long negotiation, but I think it worked out best for us and for him. He preferred the Nerazzurri,” Football Italia quotes Carnevali as saying.
“Frattesi is a young player with different characteristics than the other midfielders. I am convinced that Inter have made an excellent signing. It is up to the coach and the club to evaluate him. I’m sure they will succeed because Frattesi is a player with great quality,” explained Carnevali.
As already reported by well-known and trusted journalist Fabrizio Romano, Frattesi comes to Inter on loan with a mandatory option to buy clause. Sassuolo have set his price tag at €28 million. In the opposite direction goes 22-year-old striker Samuele Mulattieri, valued at 8 million.
“Mulattieri was not tied to Frattesi in any way. It’s a negotiation we started earlier. We are happy because he is a young player and we trust him,” Carnevali said.
Frattesi at Sassuolo
The Rome native had just transferred from AS to Sassuolo in the 2017/18 season, but over the following years he went on loan to Ascoli, Empoli and Monza. It wasn’t until 2021 that he made his way permanently into the Neroverdi’s A-team.
Frattesi played 76 competitive games in a Sassuolo jersey, scoring 11 goals and assisting 4. It should be added, the Romans secured a 30% share of future sales after his transfer, which they will now use.
