Italian vice-champion Inter is very active in the transfer market, unlike its city rival AC. The return of Belgian striker Lukaku has been officially announced, the confirmation of Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s signature is pending, and now Inter have announced another signing.
It was confirmed by journalists Fabrizio Romano and Gianluca Di Marzio on Wednesday, and by the club itself on Thursday. Inter completed the transfer of 20-year-old Albanian Kristjan Asllani from Empoli for €14 million (€4 million + €10 million mandatory option at the end of the season). The defensive midfielder could replace Matías Vecino, who is on his way out. The future of Arturo Vidal is also uncertain.
Stefano Sensi, who has been at the club for 3 years, will also move from Inter. However, the player has been plagued by injuries for a long time and played only 9 games for Inter in Serie A last season, so he spent the spring part on loan at Sampdoria, where he played 11 games.
Now it looks like he will spend the whole next season on loan. AC Monza, a newcomer to the Italian league, has agreed a deal with Inter, but the away season should not include an option. Should the midfielder find his form from Sassuolo and avoid injury, he could become a key player for the Brianzoli.
The Milan club are also still in talks over the transfer of Brazilian Bremer from Torino. According to Di Marzio, the player has had an agreement with the club for several months, but the clubs are still in talks with each other. AC Milan and Juventus are also interested in Bremer.
It is the Turin club that could sign him as a replacement for De Ligt, who has been linked with a move to Chelsea. However, the 26-year-old stopper would only stand a chance of being acquired if negotiations between Inter and FC Torino collapse.
Armenian midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan should have already passed his medical at the club and should be announced soon. Mkhitaryan arrives as a free agent, having not signed with AS Roma due to his desire to play in the Champions League.
Milan Škriniar’s situation remains unchanged. PSG are working on his arrival, but now Chelsea have also stepped in and are in dire need of a new stopper. Thomas Tuchel’s priorities, however, should be Matthijs De Ligt and Nathan Aké.
