At the end of last season, Zlatan Ibrahimovic ended a rich football career in which he had accumulated many individual and team successes. Apart from being an undoubtedly great player, he was also famous for his catchphrases or confident statements. And now he adds one more.
There probably isn’t a football fan in the world who doesn’t know his name. In short, Zlatan Ibrahimovic was a unique player who entertained his fans with his confidence in addition to his breathtaking moments on the pitch.
In short, his character and personality made his mark on the hearts of many football fans. On the other hand, that is exactly why there were those who didn’t like him.
Ibrahimovic was recently a guest on Piers Morgan’s podcast, and the legendary Swede didn’t miss the opportunity offered, calling himself the best footballer of all time.
The fact remains that he was one of those exceptional talents and practically everywhere he went, he excelled. I probably don’t need to list his achievements, both individual and team. It is understandable, then, that he has grown in confidence over the years.
After all, he scored hundreds of goals, some of which have gone down in football history in bold print. So why does he believe he is truly the best footballer in the history of football?
I am the best, no kidding!
“I think I’m the best, no joke. I am the most complete player that has ever existed,” Ibrahimovic replied when asked who he thought was the best footballer in history.
“I think when we talk purely about playing ability, it’s 100 per cent true, no kidding,” he added.
He also added that if he took into account the achievements of others, whether it be Champions League triumphs or winning the Ballon d’Or, he would probably not be in first place. On the other hand, although he has never won this elite European competition, he has made up for it with the 34 other trophies he has collected in club football.
