Aleksandar Ilic fights in multiple organizations on a rotating basis
Aleksandar Ilic is a much talked about name in the MMA world lately. On home soil, he became famous especially for his trashtalk with Karlos Vemola, but he couldn’t confirm it on Prague’s Štvanica. He couldn’t even last a whole round with the Czech Terminator and had to tap out after his choke.
After the fight, he only reinforced the belief of Czechoslovak fans that he was just food for Vemola all along and the title fight was a mere formality. But the Serbian fighter blew everyone away with a sensational knockout of Russian MMA legend Alexander Shlemenko in just 20 seconds.
Although it was widely expected that “JOKER” would be on the lookout for more big fights in the Russian organization, he still has a valid contract with the Octagon. What’s more, his return to the domestic scene is even coming in leaps and bounds.
After a sensational win in the Russian RCC, he is looking to return to the Octagon
“I already talked at the press conference about the fact that I’m going to be a big problem for all the middleweights,” Ilic hinted at his plans , according to MMA Shorties. “I can say that I will be back later this year. You’ll see my middleweight finishes soon,” he revealed.
“I weighed 94 kg in the duel with Vemola, because I basically didn’t throw anything,” he returned to the lost fight in Štvanici. “But I can do it again at middleweight,” he said in a comment on his Instagram profile.
He’s aiming for the top of the middleweight division
“If I fought the best fighter in the Octagon with this weight deficit, imagine what a completely different story I’ll be writing at middleweight,” he warned the entire top of the Octagon division.
Patrik Kincl currently reigns in this division and in a few days he will defend against Lohore at Oktagon 35 in Brno. When we will see the next fight of the Serbian wrestler, we can only speculate. However, the December tournaments in Ostrava and Prague’s O2 arena are the most likely option.
