On Tuesday 4 October, Tomas Rosicky celebrates his 42nd birthday. The now sporting manager of Sparta Prague has had a distinguished football career. Although it could have been better if not for frequent injuries, nobody could doubt his qualities.
The legend of Czech football has linked his career with three clubs. Namely Sparta Prague, where he not only started but also ended his career, Borussia Dortmund and Arsenal London. Wherever he was, the fans loved him.
And rightly so. Rosicky’s game was always a joy to watch. Unique ball control, phenomenal creativity, superb technical skills. As Arsene Wenger once famously said, “ If you love football, you love Rosicky.”
It is with this phrase that the birthday of the once phenomenal midfielder is commemorated by Arsenal, where Rosicky played under Wenger.
The Gunners, among other things, commemorated the birthday of “little Mozart” with a beautiful one-minute video sequence in which his beautiful goals are not missing.
The Bundesliga Twitter account also remembered Rosicky.
The moment from Rosicky’s farewell party, when he let his son score in front of a sold-out Letná, was widely shared on social media.
On this occasion, the official Champions League account posed an interesting question in order to find out in which jersey Rosicky was the real hero. Unsurprisingly, his Arsenal involvement wins out for now.
