Sparta Prague has a very important match ahead of them! They have to beat Viking in Stavanger, Norway, if they want to advance to the third round of the Conference Europa League. What did coach Brian Priske say before the game?

The opening match was a 0:0 draw. The result was quite surprising considering the pre-match predictions, Viking was clouded the whole game and Sparta players couldn’t get through the defensive wall.

But there were chances, and if Sparta had won by a higher margin, no one would have been surprised. For that reason, coach Brian Priske’s team is still the favorite to advance.

“I am aware of the position we are in. People expect us to advance to the next round. Our job is to be fully concentrated on the game. When you are in Sparta, you face pressure. It’s always going to be like that. That goes for the players and the management team. We have to accept it and work with it,” said coach Priske at the press conference.

Viking didn’t exactly shine in the league this weekend, getting 4 goals from Valerenga and leaving defeated 2: 4. So you could say that the game was less of a recipe to play the Norwegians.

“The game can definitely help us, we saw it on Sunday. We will show some footage to the players. Valerenga were very compact, getting into the sixteen and converting opportunities. We don’t want to copy it, but we can take inspiration from the solution of some situations,” he added.

What line-up will go into the match? That is a question that will remain unanswered for a few hours. However, it is quite possible that new signing Asger Sörensen will start.

“He has adapted quickly, helped by our Nordic players and members of the implementation team. Overall, he has fit in well with the team. He can definitely help us. We will decide on the day of the game whether he will be in the starting line-up,” the coach concluded.
