Slovácko has played the third match of the group stage of the Conference Europa League. This time it was far from a point gain, but goalkeeper Filip Nguyen chose a weaker moment and got a goal on a routine save.
Slovácko wanted to take at least a point from the game, after all they were playing at home. The French opponent was not completely above their strength, the team from Uherské Hradiště was often an evenly matched opponent.
The visitors had the first chance of the match, Pepé headed into the bar alone in the penalty area, Búdawi’s shot was deflected by Nguyen to Diop and he shot over the bar from a promising chance.
In the 22nd minute Slovácko had a chance, but Mihálik shot only into the middle of the goal, where the ball was cleared by goalkeeper Bulka. The first half ended in a goalless draw.
In the 54th minute the spectators could see a goal, Pepé shot a failed shot at Nguyen, but he failed to make a routine save and the ball went over the line between his legs.
Shortly afterwards, a Slovácko fan made a negative display by throwing a beer at the visitors’ goalkeeper. He passed it all, but because of that the referee had to attend to the incident and Slovácko can look forward to a fat fine.
In the 79th minute Kalabiška won the ball for Petržela, who let goalkeeper Bulka stand out with a successful shot. In the end, Slovácko fans demanded a penalty kick, but the referee did not react to their pleas.
Despite a scramble at the end, Slovácko players did not get the ball into the net. The match ended in a narrow 0:1 defeat. The performance of Slovácko can be praised, the points were close again, unfortunately another defeat significantly complicates the promotion ambitions.
