He was replaced by a fictional character and everyone understood who he was supposed to be. Screenwriter Petr Kolečko spoke about his possible participation in the series.

Okresní přebor, a comedy series from the football environment, is now a cult series and is enjoyed not only by those who are in the football environment.

The jokes are well-known to the general Czech public and the character of Tomáš Vápeník, who is based on Tomáš Rosický, who was supposed to appear in the series, has also resonated.

Unfortunately, this did not work out and the script had to be adapted. Instead of Rosický, Lukáš Příkazký, who is quite similar to the former footballer, played in the series.

“At the time, when we were dealing with Tomas Rosicky, there were various guidelines at Arsenal about how the player should behave in PR activities and even Arséne Wenger was confronted with what Tomas was supposed to represent.

He evenread the script that was being translated, approved it, and somehow at the last minute Tomas refused, really about 3 or 4 days before filming,” said writer and director Petr Kolechko on the Sparta 24 Hours stream for Ukraine.

So the series had to do without him, but in the end the situation was solved perfectly and the current sports director is not missing in it.
