He belongs to Arsenal, but the talented defender does not want to return to the English club from France. Why?
William Saliba is a very talented defender, this season he was one of the key figures of the famous Olympique Marseille. He would like to play at the Stade Velodrome next season, however, he is an Arsenal tribal player and so he can only hope for the best.

Olympique Marseille won’t be missing out in next year’s Champions League. What a nerve! Everything depended on the outcome of the Monaco match, but luckily for Marseille, they lost the win in the last seconds of their match.
The famous French club finished second in Ligue 1 this season, 15 points behind PSG, while Monaco, who will play in the Champions League qualifiers, finished two points behind Marseille.
And Marseille’s strongest point? Clearly the defence. Olympique conceded 38 goals in 38 matches, only PSG and Nice (36 goals conceded) did better in this respect. The 21-year-old William Saliba in particular was a great performer.
However, the talented French defender was only a guest at the club from Arsenal in England, where he is expected to return in the summer. But there is a catch. Saliba doesn’t want to leave the Stade Velodrome, on the contrary.
Saliba has won his first national team starts with great performances for Marseille and would like to make his first appearance in the Champions League next season. That can only come true for him at Marseille, as Arsenal fell short of finishing in the top four of the English Premier League.
The Frenchman is under contract at Arsenal until 2024. The question is whether Arsenal will be willing to sell him at an acceptable price. However, another loan move to Marseille could be in the cards.
“I want to come back here and play the Champions League. I have never played this competition and I want to experience it at the Stade Velodrome,” Goal quotes Saliba.
The talented stopper has played 51 competitive games for Olympique this season. Under the guidance of coach Jorge Sampaoli, he has grown into a true leader of the defensive ranks of the famous club. Extending their cooperation would make sense for both of them.
