Haaland sends Borussia Dortmund into the second round of the Cup with a hat-trick

Borussia Dortmund entered the German Cup on Saturday with a first round match at the ground of the third league Wehen Wiesbaden. After a smooth 3:0 win, the yellow and black team can enjoy their progress to the next round. Erling Haaland played a major part in this success.

Borussia scored all three goals within 24 minutes. While the first goal was scored by Reus, the second was scored by the Norwegian striker from a penalty which he won himself.

The third goal was assisted by Giovanni Reyna. Haaland thus shows that he is ready for the new season in great shape. The new Bundesliga season starts on Friday.

So far, only newcomer Fürth has been knocked out of the cup after a penalty shoot-out at Babelsberg.

The other newcomer from Bochum had a tough time on the field of the other quarter-leaguers Wuppertal, but won 2-1 after extra time.

Some of the other Bundesliga teams, such as Leverkusen and Leipzig, have already been promoted. Others will play their matches on Sunday.

Bayern Munich’s match at Bremer SV was postponed due to a coronavirus infection in the home team.
