Haaland has made the Argentine fans crazy! What is his relationship with Boca Juniors?

Erling Haaland has once again posted on social media wearing the famous Boca Juniors jersey. He has made Argentine football fans crazy. But what is Nor’s relationship with the Argentine big club?

The first time it happened in May this year, the second time now. Erling Haaland presented himself on social media in the jersey of the famous Argentine club Boca Juniors.

Understandably, this has infuriated Argentine football fans, who understandably would not have cursed if a star of this calibre had featured in Argentina’s top league competition.

And why, exactly, is the Norwegian striker presenting himself in the jersey of the Argentine giant? The explanation was offered by his former Borussia Dortmund teammate, Leonardo Balerdi, who came to Europe from Boca Juniors and now plays for Olympique Marseille.

“When I was at Borussia, Erling asked me from day one which team had the biggest history in Argentina. I explained to him that it was Boca. I showed him videos of the fans, pictures of the stadium and everything related to the club,” the Argentine defender revealed.

“I described to him how unique it is to play at La Bombonera Stadium. He immediately became a Boca fan and to this day he still sends me videos whenever he sees something with Boca. He keeps asking me when we’re going to go to a game together,” Balerdi added.

Balerdi understandably hopes that they will get to a Boca Juniors game together someday. In fact, in hopes of that happening, he got Haaland a club jersey with his name and number 9 on it.

It would certainly be interesting if the Norwegian sharpshooter could move to Argentina at the end of his career.
