The Czech tennis players confirmed their role as favourites and defeated the British 3:2 in the qualifying match.
The first day of play was marked by the favourites. Markéta Vondroušová, who played great, first defeated Dartova, allowing her opponent only one game, then Tereza Martincová was not able to beat Raducanu.
However, Martinsova in particular must have been very disappointed with the defeat. She had the upper hand several times in the match and for a long time it looked like she would be the one to take the win. However, she didn’t make it to the end and lost to her opponent in two sets.
Everything was open before the second day. But Markéta Vondroušová left nothing to chance. She had no mercy on Raducanu either, losing only two games. It should be noted that in the second set the British player was troubled by health problems.
The second point for Great Britain was added by Dart, who worked harder than expected. She came up against the debutant Fruhvirtova, and although she gave her a canary in the first set, the Czech tennis player improved significantly and won the second set. Dartova then took the third set 6:2.
The doubles match had to be decided. It was dominated by the Czech pair Muchová – Vondroušová, who after the result 6::1, 7::5 ensured the Czech Republic’s advancement to the final tournament of the BJK Cup.
The final tournament of the BJK Cup will take place from 8 to 13 November, but it is not yet known where. The Association was waiting for the results of the qualifying matches, and will select the host from the advancing teams.
