A great nuisance is now being dealt with in the bowels of apparently all the premises under Everton’s management. One of the players was alleged to have sexually molested children.
The British media was filled with reports on Tuesday reporting on the sexual molestation of children by a footballer operating in the Premier League, specifically at Everton.
The player remains anonymous, but Manchester police gave his age in their report.
“Officers arrested a 31-year-old man on suspicion of child sexual harassment on Friday 16 July,” the statement read.
Everton, meanwhile, have only two 31-year-old footballers in their squad. They are Gylfi Sigurdsson and Fabian Delph.
The unnamed player has been released on bail. He will now face further investigation. Everton confirmed in an official statement that the player is suspended at least until the matter is properly investigated.
The club will support the authorities in their investigation and will make no further comment on the situation.
