Everton fans are doing their best to keep their beloved club from going down! This is how they made the night unpleasant for the Chelsea players and helped to get important points
Everton are experiencing one of the worst seasons in their history as they struggle to stay in the top flight. However, the players are not doing well on the pitch, so the fans decided to try to help their favourites at least before the match with Chelsea.
Everton are experiencing one of the worst seasons in their history as they struggle to stay in the top flight. However, the players are not doing well on the pitch, so the fans decided to try to help their favourites at least before the match with Chelsea.
The Premier League is in danger of losing its stalwart. The last time Everton missed out on the top flight in England was in 1953/54. The team’s rise was not helped by the ever-experienced Rafael Benítez, and now Frank Lampard is not exactly performing miracles either.
However, during April, the Toffees managed to beat Manchester United, drew with Leicester and on Sunday at Goodison Park welcomed Chelsea, the third best team in the English league this season.
The favourite was obvious. Even the fans themselves didn’t seem to have much faith in their favourites, as they decided to help them at least as far as they could. At least they tried to deny the Chelsea players a comfortable and peaceful sleep at the hotel.
Shortly after 2.30 in the morning they set off several fireworks near the hotel where the Chelsea players were sleeping.
Chelsea coach Thomas Tuchel, however, did not let this upset him. “I woke up twice, which was probably the goal, but after a minute I just turned the other way and continued sleeping. It had no effect on me,” he told Sky Sports.
Jorginho, one of his charges, revealed that the Chelsea players suspected that something like this could happen. That’s why they were prepared for it and tried to sleep even though the fireworks were really noisy.
However, the fans’ help did not end there. At the most, it only ended with the efforts to stir up the opponent’s players. This was followed by a huge cheer from the Everton stars as the bus arrived at the stadium.
And what was the impact? Everton put in a heroic performance and created more than one chance. The main hero, however, was Jordan Pickford, who prevented Chelsea players from scoring several times.
Moreover, there was a really great atmosphere in the stadium, the fans drove their favourites to get important points and they did.
After the 1: 0 win over Chelsea, Everton are still 18th, 2 points behind Burnley and have a game to play.
