Christian Eriksen has a crucial week ahead of him in terms of his professional future. He will return to Italy where he will undergo tests that will decide what will happen to him next.
Every football fan probably remembers that terrifying and frightening moment. During Denmark’s first match at the European Championships, Christian Eriksen collapsed in the 43rd minute.
After being resuscitated on the pitch, he was taken to hospital, already conscious, where he underwent surgery and was given a heart rhythm monitor. He was discharged from hospital after about a week.
One battle was thus won, but another is still ongoing. Eriksen would like to return to the grass, but it will not be easy. First and foremost, because in Italy it is forbidden to play top-level sports with devices inserted into the body to monitor the heart rhythm.
He is currently looking forward to seeing his Inter Milan teammates again. He will see them next week. However, that week will also see a decision on his immediate future.
After his return to Italy, according to Sky Sport Italia, he will have to undergo new heart tests, according to which it will be determined how Eriksen is really doing. Inter want to investigate what could have caused the cardiac arrest in the Euro game.
After the medical examinations, the Italian outfit will decide what to do next with the Danish star. Either way, if he can’t continue at Inter, he may operate in other competitions.
The most important thing, of course, is health. So, first of all, there is nothing to do but hope that the examination will turn out as well as possible for Eriksen.
