Is Dusan Vlahovic on his way out of Juventus? Several European clubs, including Chelsea in London, are interested in the Serbian international’s services. The latter is currently on the lookout for a new striker and the Belgrade native could be an ideal option according to recent reports.

Vlahovic has become a feared goalscorer at Fiorentina, perhaps even the bogeyman of the entire Serie A. Before he moved to Juventus for €81.6 million at the end of January last year, he put up absolutely breathtaking numbers in a Fiorentina jersey.

He scored 21 goals in 36 games in the 2020/21 season, with an even more impressive record in the middle of the 2021/22 season, when he started 21 games for Fiorentina and netted 17 goals. A goalscorer you simply want in your team.

It’s no wonder that a number of European big clubs were vying for the Serbian international at the time. The race for Vlahovic was eventually won by Juventus, who sent 81.6 million euros to Florence for him. But the Belgrade native failed to build on his performances at Fiorentina in the Turin club.

In the rest of the 2021/22 season, he played fifteen league games for the Old Lady and scored seven times. And as for the current league season? 21 games and only eight goals by Vlahovic’s standards.

At Juventus, his future is logically in question. It should be noted, his contract with the bianconeri is valid until the end of June 2026, and according to the Transfermarkt website, his current market value is 75 million euros.

And given that Juventus are unlikely to qualify for the Champions League next year (four teams can qualify for the Champions League from Serie A, with Napoli, Lazio, AS Roma and AC Milan the closest teams at the moment), Vlahovic himself is also considering his future in Turin.

The well-known Italian server La Gazzetta dello Sport confirmed that Vlahovic has several interested parties, for example Arsenal, PSG or Bayern.

Vlahovic as a solution to the big crisis?

A new and quite serious contender for his services is supposed to be Chelsea London. According to Italian media, the latter is looking for a new striker, even though Romelu Lukaku is set to return to Stamford Bridge from Inter.

Latest reports say that Vlahovic would fit in with Chelsea’s recent wave of expensive signings and would also reportedly fit in with the London big club’s transfer policy.

Yes, there is of course still a possibility that Juventus will want to keep Vlahovic even given the length of his contract. But if Chelsea offer enough money, the bianconeri will be willing to negotiate the sale.

The question remains whether the arrival of a new or additional player is the right solution for the crisis Chelsea is currently in. The London giant has already recorded four defeats from five matches in the month of April and is currently only eleventh in the Premier League with 39 points.
