Dortmund hold the second relegation spot after three rounds. It beat Besiktas and Sporting, but lost 0:4 to Ajax. Borussia are second in the Bundesliga, just a point behind leaders Bayern Munich.
It seems that this year Ajax could build on their three years ago season, when they reached the semi-finals of the competition. So far, they are 100 percent and with eleven goals scored, they have the second best offense in the competition.
In the absence of Erling Haaland, Dortmund have relied heavily on the talented Jude Bellingham, who has scored five goals and assisted six in all competitions. Captain Marco Reus then boasts a 3+7 record.
Sebastien Haller is again pulling for the visitors, the winter signing has scored thirteen goals and assisted five. Seven of the goals were scored by outside back Noussair Mazraoui (4+3), while Dusan Tadic scored 16 goals (5+11).
Dortmund rely on a strike attack, scoring at least two goals in five of their last six games. However, it wasn’t enough for Ajax, who haven’t scored for nine games in a row.
Given the absence of Haaland and the form of Ajax’s defence, the visitors cannot be expected to lose. However, we probably won’t see another debacle like last time.
