Erling Haaland, for example, who scored in the match, was not spared harsh words. “As far as the referee is concerned, it was a scandal on his part,” he let himself be heard in an interview with Viaplay.

In particular, there is a lot of talk about the fact that Borussia should have been given a penalty kick opportunity. Only it didn’t happen and the referee didn’t even go to watch the video.

“I asked the referee why he didn’t go to check the situation on the monitor. But he arrogantly said there was no need. He was arrogant and I won’t say more on it, I need to calm down,” Haaland added.

However, Dortmund players are unanimous in their assessment of the referee’s performance. Marco Reus and Jude Bellingham also criticised him.
