Barcelona have recently reportedly shown interest in Liverpool star Luis Díaz. However, the English giant sent a response to Spain that did not please the Catalan club’s representatives. Díaz is part of the long-term plans and is not for sale.

The now twenty-seven-year-old Colombian winger transferred to Liverpool from Porto at the end of January 2022. The management of the English big club sent 47 million euros for him to Portugal, while Díaz’s market value has understandably risen since then.

According to reputable website Transfermarkt, the market value of the Colombian star stands at €75 million. However, that is not the final amount Liverpool would consider if they were to sell.

Meanwhile, there would be interested parties for his services. As the British daily Mirror reports, Barcelona have shown interest in Díaz. But according to the latest reports, the Reds have set a price tag that the Catalans simply cannot afford in times of financial distress.

Díaz is part of the club’s long-term plans and the amount of money for which the suitors could acquire him depends on that. In this case, Liverpool have set a relatively high price tag, specifically in the range of 120 to 140 million euros.

The president of the Barcelona club, Joan Laporta, is therefore clear. The Blaugrana must look for someone else on the market.

Díaz to Barcelona? Impossible…

At the moment, even any deal seems unfeasible. And that’s also given the fact that Díaz is really rocking it in a Liverpool jersey right now. The individual stats may not be particularly stellar, but in terms of playing time, the Barrancas native is an absolutely indispensable player.

He showed it, for example, in the recent match against Manchester City, where he created some very solid opportunities and turned the heads of the Citizens’ defenders on the wing.

Díaz has played in 38 games in the current competition, scoring 11 goals and assisting five more.
