Czechs celebrate Wales’ failure to progress. That’s what you get for Kudel, reacting to Bale’s inability to take the loss
Wales end their European Championship campaign with a humiliating 0-4 defeat to Denmark. In the end, Rob Page’s charges could not handle it mentally, fouling unnecessarily harshly and gesticulating towards the main referee.
Wales end their European Championship campaign with a humiliating 0:4 defeat to Denmark. In the end, Rob Page’s charges could not handle it mentally, fouling unnecessarily harshly and gesticulating towards the head referee. This, of course, did not escape the Czech fans.
The Danes had the match in their hands from the beginning. Already at half-time they were leading 2:0 and few believed that Wales would come back into the game. But the players in red and white jerseys were finally broken by the third goal at the end of the game.
After that, Bale and co. were more likely to foul recklessly than play football. It was all underlined by the red card of Harry Wilson, who brought down Joakim Maehle without the ball. True, it may not have been a red card tackle, but in the ninetieth minute, with the game tied, Wilson ran headlong into his opponent.
In stoppage time, Gareth Bale was still shown a yellow card for ironically applauding the head referee. This did not go unnoticed by the Czech fans, who remembered his elbow to the face of Ondrej Kudela, which went unpunished.
“That’s for Kúdela,” wrote one Czech fan on Facebook. “You’re good at smashing noses with your elbow, aren’t you?” responded another. And dozens of other fans agreed. Overall, Bale’s deliberate elbowing has lost him a large percentage of his fans in the Czech Republic.
Other fans mentioned that a player like him should know how to lose. Even more so when he has several seasons in a Tottenham or Real Madrid jersey under his belt.
“I liked Bale a few years ago, but now he’s been playing like the biggest star lately and he’s been playing crap for 2 years. What he did there at the end today was terrible. It’s a good thing the Danes blew them away,” another fan commented on Bale’s performance.
Czech fans have already half won before the main eight-final duel, after Scotland neither Czech Republic nor Wales will go further in the tournament than the Czech Republic. On the other hand, after the Christian Eriksen incident, everyone wants the Danes to make it.
