Cristiano Ronaldo has already scored five goals at the ongoing European Championships. He hit the net twice on Tuesday for France, converting two penalty kicks.
This brings his current tally to 109 national team goals, equalling the record of the Iranian football legend.
Ali Daei also has 109 goals, but Ronaldo is expected to surpass him soon.
The draw with France put Portugal into the knockout stages of the Euros, where the Iberian side will face Belgium.
It should be mentioned then that while Ronaldo needed 178 matches to score 109 goals, Daei did it in 145 matches.
