Copenhagen, Sparta Prague’s Danish rival in the fight for qualification to the Champions League group stage, may suffer a noticeable loss. Its goalkeeper is reportedly on his way to the big club.
Kamil Grabary, Copenhagen’s number one goalkeeper, is the subject of interest from Bayern Munich. The German Bundesliga giant is letting Switzerland international Yann Sommer join Inter Milan.
Information about Bayern’s interest in Grabary’s services was reported by the German newspaper Bild. The Bavarian club is looking for a goalkeeper to replace not only Sommer, but also injured number one Manuel Neuer.
If the Polish goalkeeper does indeed move to Bavaria, it would be a big loss for Copenhagen. Sparta, who will face the Danes in the third round of the Champions League, could benefit.
However, according to Bild, Grabary is not the only goalkeeper Bayern have become intensely interested in after Sommer’s departure to the Italian league. A trio of other goalkeepers are in the mix.
For example, Giorgi Mamardashvili, a 22-year-old talented Georgian in the service of Spanish side Valencia. He is a huge talent with great potential.
The second on the list is Yassine Bounou, the thirty-two-year-old Moroccan international who shone at last year’s World Cup in exotic Qatar. Even then, Bayern wanted him.
Third in the party is David De Gea, Manchester United’s long-time Spanish number one. He is currently a free agent when his contract expires and could therefore be available for free.
Whether Bayern will point to Grabary is not yet certain. However, the Pole is quite high on the German side’s list, even at his young age (twenty-four).
