The Danish football midfielder, who suffered a cardiac arrest at EURO 2020, is back on the pitch and training after a few months off. Christian Eriksen had to undergo surgery after the collapse and it was not known whether he would return to football.
Christian Eriksen has not appeared on a football field for more than six months. The reason was a cardiac arrest that he suffered during this year’s European Championship. However, the Denmark international did not wish to end his career.
The whole world cringed when the incident occurred. Eriksen had to be resuscitated on the field, fighting for his life for a long time. All the football fans, whether they were in the stadium or watching on TV, wished for a good outcome.
The wish was granted. Christian Eriksen has survived, undergone surgery and is preparing his return to the pitches. The current Inter player is far from returning. He has now started training individually in Odense, where he started his career.
During Eriksen’s surgery, doctors installed a device that monitors his heart rhythm. But there was a problem. With such a device, he could not play in the Italian Serie A. To continue his career at the top level, he’ll probably have to transfer from Inter.
But he’s not thinking about such things yet. Christian Eriksen is now happy to start training slowly. He has a long and difficult road ahead of him before returning to competitive play.
