Christian Eriksen really should leave Inter Milan after all. According to current information, this will happen in the next hours or days. The reason is of course his current condition. But where will he go and how will his career continue?
Based on information from world-renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano, Inter Milan’s management has agreed with Eriksen to terminate his current contract. However, we still have to wait for an official statement.
Also, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, yesterday, December 16, they were supposed to meet with the club’s management to terminate Eriksen’s contract by mutual agreement. The matter regarding his contract can thus be considered settled.
In fact, Eriksen returned to Milan from Denmark, where he was due to undergo one of his next medical examinations. However, as expected, the doctors did not give the twenty-nine year old the green light to start.
This is because there is one rule in Serie A that means Eriksen cannot feature in any match in Italy – the Dane cannot train or play in Italy with a heart device implanted, as any contact or impact could break the device.
Eriksen has been training with his former club (Odense) over the past few weeks. However, he said that he himself did not hope that the doctors would allow him to even start in Serie A and therefore continue.
This is not the first time a similar situation has arisen in Italy – in 2002, former Inter midfielder Khalilou Fadiga was diagnosed with a heart condition. He never donned the Nerazzurri jersey again after that, continuing his career in the Premier League thereafter.
According to current information, Eriksen is said to be continuing his career in his native country. However, the English Premier League or the Dutch Eredivisie also seem to be other possibilities.
We don’t know what will happen to Eriksen, but his future should be decided in the next few weeks.
