Chelsea’s owner revels in buying. After the London club, he would like to acquire a 100% stake in one of the French clubs

Chelsea’s new owner Todd Boehly has already made more of a name for himself in the football world than he would probably like. He hasn’t exactly made the best name for himself yet. He’s investing in the Blues, but unfortunately without any thought or results. He clearly likes to buy. And that’s probably why he wants to get another “toy”.

Chelsea’s new owner Todd Boehly has already made more of a name for himself in the football world than he would probably like. Mostly, he hasn’t exactly made the best name for himself yet. He’s investing in the Blues, but unfortunately without any thought or results. He clearly likes to buy. And that’s probably why he wants to get another “toy”.

Last year, Chelsea in London had to usher in a new era. Roman Abramovich had to sell his beloved club, which he had helped to enjoy its best ever years, because of its links to Russian terrorist president Vladimir Putin.

So as of June 2023, the new owner of the Blues is American businessman Todd Boehly, who has promised to invest in the club. And he has lived up to his words, but instead of recognition, he has been met with criticism and ridicule.

Chelsea has spent over 600 million euros in just two transfer periods. Spending like this is unprecedented in the transfer market. Moreover, it seems that players have been brought in without any concept.

Several satirical sites or social media pages have reacted to the Blues’ transfer strategy. One after another, the jokes flew. And they may very well be flying now.

Boehly, according to the French publication L’Équipe, is looking for a new club to buy. He and his financial partners have even met with its president.

Specifically, Strasbourg, whose president is Marc Keller. Boehly is said to be interested in acquiring 100% of the shares. Strasbourg is currently playing in the top French league but is struggling to stay in the league.

It is a club that has won the title in the past. But it’s been struggling for the last few years. In 2011, it was relegated to the fifth tier because of debts. In 2016, however, Strasbourg fought their way into Ligue 2 and were promoted in their first season. Since then, it has been a regular participant in Ligue 1.
