Chelsea have had one of the worst seasons in the club’s history and they entered the new one with a clear ambition. Not to repeat it. Once again there have been many transfers, Mauricio Pochettino is the new coach, but after four rounds of the Premier League there can be no complacency. How is the public reacting?

The new owner? When Todd Boehly took over Chelsea from Roman Abramovich, there was some embarrassment. But right from the start, the American businessman made it clear that he was not going to let the club fall into decline and that he was going to invest in it.

No one can really blame him for the investment, Chelsea is breaking transfer records, both in the number of players brought in or sold and in transfer sums. It just doesn’t show in the results.

Last season, Chelsea finished 12th in the Premier League with a record of 38:47, 11 wins, 16 losses. Unprecedented for the Blues. With the new season, everything was about to change.

The London club invested in new reinforcements again. In addition, coach Mauricio Pochettino arrived, who has experience and undeniable qualities. However, after four rounds in the league, Chelsea have only one win.

Once again, the Blues are in the second half of the table. Their only win came against newcomers Luton, otherwise they drew with Liverpool and failed to beat West Ham or Nottingham Forest.

Chelsea played Nottingham on Saturday afternoon and lost 0:1. They had more chances, more shots, more possession. It’s as if the club is cursed. And the footballing public are giving the Blues a hard time.

No wonder. In the last 16 league games, Chelsea have only picked up 11 points from 2 wins and 5 draws.

Thus, on social media, we find various posts hinting that Chelsea fans have celebrated more signings than points gained this year. There are also hints that Nottingham’s win is all the more important due to the fact that Chelsea will be its rivals in the fight for retention.

Of course, we also find jokes about the nationality of Boehly, who according to the posts in question was supposed to have heard from someone that Chelsea can get a better league position by drafting new players for next season, which of course does not exist in the Premier League.
