Caroline Garcia vs. Daria Kasatkina: Preview and betting tips

Caroline Garcia is a 29-year-old tennis player from France. She is currently ranked sixth in the WTA rankings. However, this is not her career high, as she was ranked fourth in September 2018.

Garcia is having a great season, as she has played 62 competitive matches since January and managed to win 42 of them. She did not find a victor at the tournaments in Bad Homburg, Warsaw and also Cincinnati, where she defeated Petra Kvitova in the final.

At the Tournament of Champions in Fort Worth, USA, she defeated Coco Gauff in the first match after 6:4 and 6:3. However, the Frenchwoman played only five games against Swiatek and will have to fight to advance from the group.

On Saturday night, she will face 25-year-old Russian Daria Kasatkina. She is currently eighth in the WTA rankings. She has a record of 41 wins and 21 losses in the 2022 calendar year, which is very similar to Garcia.

Kasatkina has dominated the San Jose and Granby events this year. She fell short to Iga Swiatek in the Champions Tournament, the highlight of the tennis season. She then went on to beat Gauff in the losers’ bracket and kept her hopes of reaching the semi-finals alive.

Garcia will be the paper favourite in this event and she should also dictate most of the exchanges. The two players have met twice so far, each winning one match. Considering the importance of the match, we can expect a rather long duel.
