Bílek didn’t hide his disappointment with the defeat against Inter! What did he say about Pavel Boucha’s red card?
Viktoria Plzeň did not even make it through the second match of the Champions League group stage, falling 0:2 at home to Inter. The performance of the Victorians this time was not exactly positive and the result is quite deserved. What did coach Michal Bílek say at the press conference after the match?
Viktoria Plzeň failed to win their second match of the Champions League group stage, falling 0:2 at home to Inter. The performance of the Victorians this time was not exactly positive and the result is quite deserved. What did coach Michal Bílek say at the press conference after the match?
Although Plzeň fell 1:5 at Barcelona, they did not play such a bad game. Unfortunately, it was a different story at home against Inter. Viktoria fell 0:2, Pavel Bucha earned a red card.
“Every red card in such a space is unnecessary. Pavel Bucha had it on the long leg and finished off the opponent. It was in their half and completely unnecessary,” said coach Michal Bílek at the press conference.
He could not be satisfied with the performance of his charges, only Inter were on the ball, who had the number 69 in the possession percentage at the end of the match.
Viktoria had seven shots on goal, while the Victorians hit the target only once. So it can be said without any hesitation that the result is well deserved.
“Every defeat is unfortunate, definitely. We wanted to get a better result. We went into the game thinking we would play the same formation as them, but we didn’t catch the start. Theopponent held the ball well and we didn’t get into it,” Bílek added.
The next Champions League match may be even more challenging for the Victorians as they will face Bayern Munich, who beat Inter 2-0. A point for Viktoria would be a big surprise.
“All the matches that await us will be just as hard, maybe even harder. Bayern Munich is probably the biggest favourite in our group. If we want to play a good game, we must not foul so much, get so many cards and finish with 11 men,” concluded the Viktoria coach.
