A statement on the club’s website read: ‘Borussia Dortmund striker Sebastien Haller had to leave BVB’s training camp in Bad Ragaz, Switzerland, early due to illness and has already travelled back to Dortmund.
After tests were carried out, it was found that he has a tumour in his testicles. He will undergo further medical examinations in the coming days before the true extent of the problem is confirmed.
“The 28-year-old Ivory Coast international complained of feeling unwell after training on Monday morning.
“After intensive medical examinations during the day, a tumour was eventually discovered in his testicles.
During his short time at Ajax, Haller scored 47 goals in 66 games.
He won the Eredivisie title with the Dutch giants under new Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag.
