Tvrdík on a working trip in Saudi Arabia
Jaroslav Tvrdík, the owner of SK Slavia Praha, has caused a stir among the club’s fans in recent days by announcing a working trip to Saudi Arabia. Supporters of the club have started to wonder what the purpose of his visit to the Middle Eastern country is.
On Sunday, the president of Slavia posted a tweet from his visit to the Spanish Super Cup final. The match was played in Saudi Arabia, as in previous years, which has long provoked resentment from players and football fans alike.
In the aforementioned match, Barcelona completely dominated Real Madrid and won by a clear 1:3. Tvrdik’s post also stated that his visit to the Arab country was not just to watch the best football in the world.
In fact, he stated in the post that it was a working visit, which sparked conflicting reactions from the club’s fans. “What if we were to associate ourselves with someone who does not suppress human rights and does not have blood on his hands,” was one fan’s reaction.
A day later, Tvrdík revealed the reason for his visit to Saudi Arabia. On his Twitter account, he announced his collaboration with the Al-Nassr team, which recently snapped up star Cristiano Ronaldo.
The best reactions to the collaboration with Al-Nassr
The public reactions didn’t take long to come. “If they want Stan for Ronaldo, Nass*at,” came the humorous reaction under the post by user ´WestBoySkS´ to the utopian exchange of Tecla for Ronaldo.
“Ronaldo would have blown up our cabinet. And he probably wouldn’t go for a beer,” was another post referring to the Portuguese star’s healthy lifestyle but also problematic nature. It is also the reason why he lost his chance to play in Europe after becoming a free agent after leaving United.
“Better destinations (China and Saudi Arabia), it’s easy there,” followed another reaction to the club’s foreign collaborations, referring to the flag of North Korea and noting that fortunately football is not played much in that country. “Could you establish cooperation with Germany or Spain,” asked a fan.
