the 26-year-old Frankfurt native started his senior career at Hoffenheim, where he also spent three years in the youth. He eventually played 107 games for the A-team across five years.
He also registered seven goals. His performances earned him a move to Bayern Munich.
To date, the German national defender has played 105 games for Germany’s top club.
He will now head to the second team of the Bundesliga, which he should help to score fewer goals. Only Mönchengladbach, Stuttgart and Fürth have scored more goals.
